SOLICITOR QUALIFYING EXAMINATION PART 2 (SQE2)
SQE2 Classes
SQE2 classes are delivered on a one‑to‑one basis, giving you personalised support throughout your preparation. You’ll receive all learning materials in advance, so you have time to prepare properly before each session.
Classes are practical and interactive, with plenty of opportunities to practise key skills. You’ll receive regular feedback and the chance to re‑practise tasks so you can build confidence and improve quickly.
A big part of SQE2 preparation is learning to reflect on your performance. You’ll be encouraged to think about what went well and what could be improved, helping you develop the ability to self‑correct in high‑pressure, real‑life scenarios—just like those you’ll face in legal practice.
SQE2 Assessment
SQE2 checks how well you can apply your legal knowledge and use key practical skills in real‑life situations.
You’ll complete 16 tasks in total — some written, some oral — which together amount to 14 hours of assessments.
The assessments are spread over six days:

Oral assessments: around 2.5 days

Written assessments: around 3.5 days
This setup is designed to mirror the type of work trainee solicitors do day‑to‑day.
What skills are tested?
In SQE2, you’ll be assessed on the following practical legal skills:

There isn’t a separate test called Negotiation, but every SQE2 sitting includes at least one task that involves negotiation.
